Learning & Faith Formation
Faith formation is about more than filling our minds with information about God, Jesus and the church. We are called to be disciples of Jesus. It’s about the vital belief and practices of our faith that sustain us. It’s about building up and strengthening our hearts, our minds and our souls, and our communities.
Faith does not involve a set of boxes to be checked. Faith is about loving God and loving what God loves – all of creation and out of that love participating fully in that creation.
Faith formation is a lifelong journey through Christ, with Christ, and in Christ. It is an authentic life rooted in spiritual challenge, compassion, community and justice. We begin as beloved children of God, growing in our knowledge, service and love as followers of Christ. In this world life is not always easy, but we are supported by a loving God.
“While I know myself as a creation of God, I am also obligated to realize and remember that everyone else and everything else are also God’s creation” – Maya Angelou
