The International Community

On the international front, the committee contributes to the national Anglican Church’s Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) through the organization of various fundraising campaigns. The PWRDF keeps us informed through contacts on the ground in the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, South Asia, and other regions about needs in their communities.

For the past two years, we have been involved in the PWRDF campaign led by the Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, Fred Hilz, called “Fred Says.” In 2015, that program is concentrating on fostering the development of secure food in different localities. The Outreach Committee is currently involved in the “Kids Rock” campaign of that program which promotes goat farming in communities in Tanzania that are suffering from the AIDS crisis. We also develop “Christmas in Spring” fundraising campaigns to donate gifts around the world in the Name of Christ through PWRDF’s “Gifts for Mission.” To find out more about our current Kids Rock campaign or to get involved volunteering long term for international aid through PWRDF, please contact the church office at 250-762-3321 and we’ll direct you to the right person to make this happen.
